My name is Caleigh Heenan. I graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. I have spent the past twelve years teaching Second, Third, and Fifth grades. I am currently a Third Grade teacher at National Park Elementary School in National Park, NJ. Currently, I am working on my master’s degree in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband, Brian, and our two dogs, Ruby and Connor. I love to dance, bake, and be outdoors. We love to travel and spend time with our families. I also truly love reading and am typically found to be reading two books at a time.

In addition to my other interests, my life long passion has been education. Starting from the age of five, being a teacher was the only thing I ever wanted. (My younger sisters regularly share the stories of my daily after-school schoolhouse.) I have worked very hard to stay on top of the trends in education, and I have found the most recent shift to be extremely inspiring.
Digital Learning has changed the course of education, and our country is on the precipice of significant change. Traditional instruction is no longer effective, and educators must now adapt to meet the needs of individual learners with unprecedented access to high-quality instructional platforms anytime, anywhere. Rather than the presenter of knowledge, teachers must work as coach to guide students in the development of choice, ownership, voice, and authentic learning experiences. It is my goal to help my students develop the skills necessary to become passionate, life-long learners who make a lasting change in the world.
